Devastator Marine Squads (Devs) are Space Marine squads armed with a heavy weapon. The unit has three models, the lead model equipped with a heavy bolter that requires setup time and causes suppression, while the two other models carry regular bolters. The differences to other heavy weapon teams are:
- Devastators have heavy infantry armor, making them more resistant to ranged fire but also slow and vulnerable to grenades etc.
- Compared to Shuriken Cannons, their setup/teardown time is longer
- Compared to Chaos Havocs, they reload a little less frequently (gaining slightly higher DPS), but suppress a little slower
- They have a lascannon upgrade, but no autocannon option like Havocs and Heavy Weapon Squads
