The Tyrant Guard or TG (Tyranicus scutatus in High Gothic) is a heavy Tyranid creature effective in close combat and resembling a small walker vehicle. They are bred to protect Hive Tyrants as living shields. The Tyrant Guards are rumoured to have DNA and anatomy suggesting use of Space Marine genetic material.
- Slow but very resilient line-breaker unit, often requires anti-vehicle weapons to counter
- Super heavy infantry armor type still makes it vulnerable to powerful heavy infantry counters (e.g. multiple squads with plasma/inferno weapons)
