Overview

The Chaos Sorcerer is a very well rounded support hero, and arguably the ultimate Tier 2 hero. He comes with Doombolt, which is more powerful depending on how much energy he has left. This power scales between being good at the start (perfect hits with full energy takes half the health off a tac squad), weak mid-game, to very powerful at the end (on a high level sorcerer it does more damage to Nobs than Warpfire). He has some useful wargear combinations, and has possibly the most abusive combos in the game when you work his global abilities into the picture.

Abilities

Teleport & Disruption

Equip the Sorcerer the Vestments of the Warp and Sword of Flame and he becomes a b**** to deal with in Tier 1. He will kill suppression teams very quickly and destroys lightly armoured units. You should win a lot of early engagements with him leading your army, however it will set you back 55 power. Less effective later on in the game but still useful - consider buying the Icon of Tzeentch in Tier 2 against more numerous armies.

Gunline Support

Get the Rod of Warpfire and Daemon Armor. This will protect you when you blob up, especially against gunlines with plasma weaponry.

Powerful Combinations

1. Worship heretics to cloak an unupgraded havoc squad and set it up where you know your enemy will probably come from (e.g. VPs). Wait until he's right in front of the havocs before unworshipping, which will cause the havocs to fire as well as anything else you had hidden; at close range, the havocs will rip up most units in seconds.

2. Buy a hugbot (Khorne Dreadnought) in Tier 2 and charge into his base when his units are there and pop Blood Rage. You will cause a lot of bleed (especially if you out-teched your opponent) but your opponent will probably pull all his army back to his base to take out the dreadnought so he doesn't lose squads and/or base turrets. So you cap the map. Normally when he gets some AV you're dreadnought is pretty much dead...not with the Sorcerer! When you see dedicated AV in his base that you can't tackle, use the global Mass Warp (125 red) and just get him out easy and heal up with tics, which will be right next to the dread. Congratulations, you caused a lot of bleed and capped the map because of one unit, which you can use again when you need to.

3. Having trouble with walkers or tanks? No problem. Plague marines should normally be your first T2 choice anyway. Snare the tank with a rocket and use the global Daemonic Summoning (250 red) in its escape route. Yes it sets you back a lot of red, but done correctly it is almost a guaranteed tank wipe, especially if you cloaked Plague Marines/Tzeentch havoc and can see the tank's escape route.
