Power is, in the end, a key motivation of every adept of Chaos. Like the Darks Side of the Force in Star Wars, Chaos eventually degrades the motives of everyone who dallies with it.

Horus's motivation for betrayal, for example, was a vision of a future suspiciously resembling the one he ended up causing. But ultimately he ended up as just another power seeker.
