I don't know, Romeo. I've always wanted the Shas'o Commander as the defensive hero (don't even know why they bother having the "offensive, etc" label. It usually doesn't relate to the hero's actual gameplay). In which, it could call in Drones, equip Fusion Blasters, Ion Cyclid Blastersm and all that jazz, switch between the XV81 (for the Missiles!), XV89, XV22 and XV9-something (doesn't matter if its made up; a tonne of other stuff from relic is). As a global ability, it could call in a XV8 Crisis Battlesuit.

The offensive hero would be a Kroot Master Shaper, which would be the fastest commander in the game but be very fragile. It could equip stuff like the Hunting Rifle and Pulse Rifler, or shields and totems. Plus, it could have the Hyperactive Nymune Adaptation ability. As a global ability, it could call in a Krootox herd.

Finally, the Ethereal would be the supportive hero. Not to good in combat, but has an arsenal of abilities such as holographic projection and healing. Plus, it grants suppression immunity and full weapon accuracy to nearby Tau (note I said Tau, not Kroot or Vespid). As a global ability, it could call in the mighty Hammerhead Gunship, greatly making up for the Ethereal's low combat experience.
