Pleeease no base-building. The removal of that is why I liked DOWII. I don't like RTS games, so the fact that they made it more small-scale and action-oriented made it something that I loved. I still wouldn't be adverse to more unit selection, though.
And do a little more for Last Stand on the side. Plenty of people just play that alone, and it's an easy way to bring in some more money for another game.
