Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War – Dark Crusade is the second expansion for Dawn of War. It was developed by Relic Entertainment and released by THQ on October 9, 2006 in North America and November 3, 2006 in Europe.
Dark Crusade is a standalone expansion, not requiring the original game to be played. However, a copy of Dawn of War (or the serial code, to be specific) is still required to play as Space Marines, Orks, Eldar and Chaos Space Marines in online multiplayer games, while Winter Assault is required to play as the Imperial Guard.
