Overview
A massively expensive T3 "super armor", the Force Commander's Terminator Armor is generally considered a bad wargear mostly bought by noobs. It is actually not ineffective, granting very high health, suppression immunity, and a free power fist and teleporter; in fact, when the cost was lowered in the Retribution expansion, rushing Terminator Armor became common.
As a breakdown, the Terminator Armor costs 200 100 and grants:
- Increases health by 1680; Artificer gives 200 health (100 20)
- Gives a ranged weapon comparable to Chaos Lord Combi-Flamer (120 30)
- Gives a melee weapon equal to the T2 Power Fist (150 50)
- Gives a teleporter pack (100 40)
- Gives suppression immunity and weapon knockback immunity
- Armor type changed to heavy infantry (increased damage especially from plasma and power weapons)
This means you are actually getting a lot for the cost. Still, if you get a Terminator weapon, the cost is 270 170 which would pretty much buy you a tank, and you lose all your FC levels and previously bought wargear.
Wargear
Assault Cannon
Don't confuse this with the Terminator Squad upgrade. This AC gives improved range, but the damage improvement is only about 3.5 DPS. For 70 (very, very expensive, in case you missed it). Yeah, no thanks. Maybe you can buy it if you float tons of resources and can't get anything else.
Heavy Flamer
Probably the weapon you would buy. High AoE damage against massed infantry (the ability does 30 DPS in a big radius - there are many units with 100 or less base health per model, so do the math). The flamer will destroy generators and any turrets (including HQ turrets) almost instantly, and it's rather hard to block as the FC is immune to knockback and suppression.
Lightning Claws
The weapon is good - the LCs do lots of power melee damage and splash damage, so they will own infantry (especially heavy infantry). However, the cost is high, and you lose a good ranged weapon and an 85 DPS heavy melee weapon, so think carefully. Buying something else is probably more cost-effective.
